My breakfast

For about a month one of the kitchen lights has been fluctuating between flickering and completely dead, and our procrastinating and lazy nature is such that unless we run into the building manager it just won't get fixed. We just can't be arsed to call him up.

So this morning I had some toast, I always pick the third slice from the first, cause it's bigger and it hasn't been touched. Everything was fine. Fast forward to dinner time, my meals are so varied that I decide to make some toast. But this time I'm standing in the other part of the kitchen, where the light works and I see the bread is kind of greenish. I disregard it at first thinking it must be the design of the bag, take it out and it's still green and sporish and penicilinish looking. A full blown village on my bread, the spores seem to wave all friendly like at me, seemingly not remembering that earlier I had taken an entire chunk of their town. It must not have been a very important part, maybe just a suburb. Maybe they just are forgiving spores, after all I practically raised them.


I wish I could finish this telling you I'm gonna call the building manager first thing in the morning, but I know that's not what's gonna happen. So, cross your fingers I bump into him real soon, please.

Holy Apparitions Batman III

We have Mother Theresa in a cinnamon roll, Gabriel the Archangel in a cake box and now Jesus in a piece of toast:


The picture was captured with an iPhone. According to the guy that took the picture, the toast looked normal but when he took the pic he saw the image of Jesus staring back at him from his iPhone. As if the if the iPhone didn't already do everything, now it's also facilitating holy apparitions!

Of Food and Mice

Up until Saturday my favorite Pixar movie was Toy Story 2, but after watching Ratatouille my list changed a little:

3. Finding Nemo
4. Cars
5. Monster's Inc
6. Toy Story
7. A Bug's Life
8. The Incredibles

I'm happy Ratatouille came in first place at the box office (and for my contribution to that), but also very sad cause it's the Pixar movie with the lowest opening weekend. How can that be? I can't believe the reasons that people are giving for not wanting to watch it: "the name is unpronounceable" WTF! and "rats are disgusting" Come on guys! What's wrong with you?! Some of the most beloved cartoons in history have been mice! Don't tell me you don't have enough room in your heart for this rodent?

Before watching Ratatouille, every time I watched a new Pixar movie I was like "I loved it but my favorite is still Toy Story 2", but not anymore. Sorry Woody, but Ratatouille is so perfect!
We watched it on DLP (Digital Projection) so everything was super crispy clear. The animation is the best ever, completely flawless. The direction, the characters, the story, the actors, everything is amazing up to the tiniest details. Everyone in the theater clapped at the end. Don't wait for the DVD go see it while it's still in the theaters
Added bonus: One of my heroes, the mad sexy, intelligent, funny, sweet Anthony Bourdain was in the credits!
